About Deer Park Camp

  • Peaceful campsite located in an ancient deer park, with an award winning café on site.

  • Ten minute drive to Royal Tunbridge Wells and good transport links with London, Kent and Sussex.

  • In a serene woodland setting, with firepits provided along with flushing loos and hot showers.

Deer Park Camp is a peceful and tranquil campsite located in the historic woodlands of Eridge Park. It is in the oldest enclosed deer park in England, with a mention in the Domesday book! It is not unusual to wake up on a misty morning to see a herd of majestic deer poking out of the woodland, in close view of your tent! It comprises of two large camping areas, one more family friendly area is nearer the cafe and the amenity block and another is through the woodland expanding into a more secluded meadow. There are different areas designated for families, groups and individuals, and everyone has access to a private firepit. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome, as are VW style vans, who can camp alongside others in their group without a van. You can park alongside your camping area saving you from long heavy trips back and forth to the car.

Deer Park Campsite is set within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a region known for its picturesque landscapes and heritage. It is situated between Crowborough and Royal Tunbridge Wells, with both being just a ten minute drive away. The nearby Eridge train station has links with London and the South Coast and there are regular bus services to Tunbridge Wells.

The Eridge estate has plenty of wonderful hiking and cycling routes and there are plenty of circular pub walks to complete. The Nevill Crest & Gun in Eridge is a fantastic local pub and award winning  restaurant with a large popular beer garden, while the Abergavenny Arms in Frant is more of a village boozer, perfect for a well earned pint. Both are accessible by following footpaths  through the estate, where you will encounter incredible views of the Kent countryside as well as lots of different wildlife and fauna. Nearby you can also organise fishing and clay pigeon shooting, watersports at Bewl Water as well as visit historic sites such as Hever Castle and Penshurst Place.

Deer Park Camp emphasizes a back-to-basics, eco-friendly approach to camping with a particular focus on getting away from the pace of modern (digital) life. At the entrance to the campsite, there is an amenity block offering flushing loos, hot showers, washbasins, and a washing up area. This provides a sense of being off-grid whilst maintaining essential comforts. There are also eco-loos in the Meadow, so that you never have to walk too far.
Children will love the huge swathes of enclosed woodland to build dens and explore as well as the plentiful open space which allows for lots of games and activities.

There is a firepit on every pitch and off the ground barbecues are also more than welcome.
If you are worried about poor weather, or perhaps that your children might be ill for your trip, you can purchase Yamp Camp Flex which allows you to transfer your booking to another available weekend (See terms and conditions).
