The Campsite
Deer Park Camp is a peaceful and tranquil campsite located in the historic woodlands of Eridge Park. It is in the oldest enclosed deer park in England, with a mention in the Domesday book! It is not unusual to wake up on a misty morning to see a herd of majestic deer poking out of the woodland, in close view of your tent! It comprises of two large camping areas, one more family friendly area is nearer the cafe and the amenity block, and another is through the woodland expanding into a more secluded meadow. There are different areas designated for families, groups and individuals, and everyone has access to a private firepit. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome, as are VW style vans, who can camp alongside others in their group without a van. You can park alongside your camping area saving you from long heavy trips back and forth to the car. On-site, there are two large and beautiful camping areas, but here there is also a reception area next to an on-grid modern shower and toilet block which includes flushing, porcelain loos, hot showers and undercover washing up stations. Even better for those that need their morning Barista or smashed avocado breakfast, the award-winning Deer Park Café is on the other side of the entrance, serves delicious breakfasts and lunches – and is open on Saturdays and Sunday mornings! Deer Park will therefore suit anyone looking for modern facilities and the convenience of on-site food and drink, while still camping in a beautiful, rural location. Having said that, the second camping area also sits really well with our back to basic camping ethos. It is much more remote as it is accessed through a band of ancient woodland and is in the middle of the estate, so is also ideal for those wanting a more remote experience. Yamp Camp – Deer Park is beautiful and rural, but it will suit those who also want to enjoy the convenience provided by on-grid facilities, an on-site café and the proximity to the most popular Georgian Spa towns in the Southeast of England.
