About Barcombe Mills Campsite
Picturesque and peaceful riverside campsite located in the beautiful Sussex countryside, a short walk away from the famous wild swimming and boating of Barcombe Mills and within walking distance of two traditional country pubs.
Ten-minute drive to both Uckfield and Lewes and good transport links with London, Kent and Sussex.
In a pretty woodland valley with a stream running through it, with firepits provided along with eco-loos and hot showers.
The Campsite
In a beautiful and rural setting, the camping area is bordered on one side by a tributary of the River Ouse and open farmland on the other, with views to The South Downs, which are a truly breathtaking sight. It is also quite a long and narrow site, but it has separate sections for friends, family and adults alike, so campers can elect to be in an area of their choosing. Access is good, which means that people can camp in harmony. It is a pretty tree lined linear site which follows a stream into its own silent valley. It joins its own private river, which connects up to the Barcombe Mills river system, popular for wild swimming, boating and SUP boarding. The natural setting of the site allows for plenty of private camping areas, as well as open spaces for games and running around! There are also large independent areas which can be booked exclusively for your own private party or events. There are lots of large open and tree covered areas that provide plenty of private space, and our signature mown out crop circles, make it feel like you are the only ones there! There are different areas designated for families, groups and individuals, and everyone has access to a private firepit. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome, as are VW style vans, who can camp alongside others in their group without a van. You can park alongside your camping area saving you from long heavy trips back and forth to the car.
